This Chick Fil A Sauce Recipe is one of my favorite dipping sauces of all time.
It's perfectly balanced; sweet, tangy, creamy, and a touch of smokiness. This copycat recipe seriously tastes just like the original, and it's so easy to make that now you can have Chick Fil A Sauce whenever the craving hits.
I served this sauce with my Homemade Chicken Nuggets (they use almond flour for a naturally gluten-free crust).

What Makes This Recipe So Good?
Uh, have you had Chick-Fil-A sauce? It's a delicious improvement to honey mustard, combing it with BBQ sauce for a "smoky tang" as Chick-Fil-A tells.
While you can buy Chick-Fil-A sauce from the store, you likely have these ingredients already on hand. Plus, you can control the quality of the ingredients when you make it from scratch. For example, I like to use Heinz Original BBQ Sauce, which is free of high-fructose corn syrup. In the store-bought Chick-Fil-A sauce you'll find things like corn syrup, caramel color (sometimes a hidden form of gluten), and natural flavor.
Ingredients
- Honey. Tip: Use a light clover honey, as the darker the honey the darker the sauce.
- Yellow Mustard
- Dijon Mustard
- BBQ Sauce, I use Heinz Original BBQ. Aim for a sweet and smoky original flavor of your favorite brand.
- Mayo
- Freshly-squeezed lemon juice
The use of two types of mustard really gives this sauce depth of flavor and tang.
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to a medium-sized mixing bowl.
- Whisk until well-combined.
- Cover, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before using.
- Serve with fries, chicken nuggets or tenders, chicken sandwiches, etc.
Storage
Store in the refrigerator in a glass mason jar with lid for up to one week. Tip: You can swap out lemon juice for apple cider vinegar if you want to store this sauce for longer than one week. ACV and lemon can be swapped in a 1:1 ratio.
Serving Options
Serve with fries (waffle, sweet potato, wedges, etc.), onion rings, chicken nuggets or tenders, chicken sandwiches, etc.
