Yield: 2smoothies
Tangy and vibrant fresh peeled oranges, sweet frozen banana and mango (or peaches), and delicious creamy vanilla yogurt and milk. Throw everything into a blender, and you've got yourself a healthy take on an orange creamsicle or Orange Julius.
½cupVanilla Greek yogurtI used Chobani Vanilla. *If using plain Greek yogurt, add in ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½cupmilkor dairy-free milk such as almond milk
2tablespoonhoney
Instructions
Add all of the ingredients to a large blender.
Blend for a good 1-2 minutes to ensure everything is smooth.
Serve immediately, topped with a fresh orange slice if feeling fancy.
Notes
Use frozen banana - this makes the smoothie really thick and creamy
You can lessen or increase the amount of honey based on how sweet or tart your oranges are.
If making this smoothie all week long, you can peel the oranges in one go and store them in a gallon bag ready for use. This helps streamline the process.
I prefer using Navel oranges in this recipe because they have a classic orange flavor. Some people like to use mandarin oranges/clementines, but I find the seeds are harder to find in those types of smaller oranges. The seeds are easy to locate and pick out of Navel oranges. While you can eat orange seeds, they are bitter, so blending a considerable amount into the smoothie could impact the flavor. (I personally have never eaten an orange seed. Have you?)
